Denise Fitzgerald
Dee, alongside her husband Barry, set up and has been running The Mortgage Exchange for 30 years. Although the business began in Shaftesbury, we proudly moved to our Wincanton office last year and continue to support clients across the surrounding areas.
As our Office Manager, Dee is at the heart of everything we do. With three decades of experience, she has built lasting relationships with clients, many of whom have been returning to us for years. She prides herself on remembering every client and making everyone feel welcome. Her wealth of knowledge, friendly nature and willingness to help make her an invaluable part of the team.
When she’s not keeping the office running smoothly, Dee loves spending time with her grandchildren and getting out for walks with her two energetic Cockapoos.
Julian Newman
Julian joined The Mortgage Exchange 10 years ago, bringing with him over 28 years of experience as a Commercial Business Manager at a national high street bank. Based in Salisbury, he is very much a valued member of our team and uses his extensive knowledge to help clients secure the very best mortgage solutions, from residential lending through to more complex commercial finance.
His commercial expertise adds real depth to the services we offer, and his calm, approachable manner has made him a trusted adviser to clients over the past decade.
Outside of work, Julian enjoys spending time with his family, keeping up with his busy household of dogs, and making time for both football and golf whenever he can.
Kirsty Calcott
Kirsty joined The Mortgage Exchange nine years ago and is based in Wincanton, offering appointments from the office there or virtually. After graduating with a First Class Honours degree in Psychology from the University of Southampton and completing a Postgraduate Certificate in Education at Bath Spa University, she decided to swap teaching for the family business – a decision she’s never looked back on.
As a mortgage broker, Kirsty loves helping people achieve their dream of owning a home. Whether it’s guiding first-time buyers through one of the biggest milestones of their lives or helping existing homeowners find the right mortgage, she is passionate about making the process as straightforward and stress-free as possible.
Outside of work, Kirsty enjoys spending time with her husband, two children and their dog. She’s an avid reader, a School Governor, and an active member of the local school PTA, where she enjoys supporting the wider community.
